Pediatric Footwear
Tips for parents
Since children’s feet are still growing, it is important to increase their shoe size to keep up with their growth. Make sure there is always a half inch of space between the end of their toes and the shoes, but not much more than that. Buying shoes that are too large for your child so he or she can grow into them may save a couple of dollars in the short term, but will increase the likelihood of foot problems by not providing appropriate support, and allowing too much movement within the shoe. Loose fitting shoes that slip in the heel can lead to irritation, blisters, and pain.
